Jesus talked about how the seeds of grain will be separated from the weeds, and the weeds will be burned. That parable always scared me because I worried I might be the bad seed. I realized weeds are not something we are born with or chosen to have. Instead, the devil puts weeds around every seed to try to stunt its growth. The devil cannot remove or touch the seed (you) in itself. All he can do is surround you with weeds, hoping you will focus on them instead of the blessings and the person you are meant to become. The devil can only slow down the seed’s growth, not destroy it. I have learned that even if you feel surrounded by weeds, neither you nor the devil can take away your true value as the person God created you to be—a seed. God told me I am a good seed in good soil, just surrounded by weeds. There is a big purpose for our lives, which is why we face so many weeds trying to distract us from our calling. You do not have to remove all your weeds to do what He has asked you to do. He will clear the weeds to make a path, but you should not keep focusing on the weeds in front of you, because that is what holds you back.
