Many of us have an anchor that struggles to land on solid ground. We just drop the anchor and hope that it lands on solid ground. Let the word of Christ be your anchor. Don’t let your flesh dictate where the anchor goes or sits on the ocean floor. Rather, be encouraged by the word of the Lord. Let God's love guide you to righteousness. God uses anyone's mess to give a message. As followers of Christ, we get kicked down, but never knocked out. Jesus says the righteous man falls seven times and gets back up 700 more times. ( Proverbs 24:16) This means our failures do not define who we are. No matter how many times we fail God. As long as we get back up take up our cross and show a true inward change of heart. Like David did, who was a man after God's own heart. With true repentance of turning from our sins, Jesus can move freely in our lives by the sanctification process that he so freely gives, called grace. It's not earned but freely given to us. He desires to have a personal relationship with us no matter what we have done, or where we have been. He's saying come home daughter come home son your sins are forgiven. I will remember them no more. Deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow me. ( Matthew 16:24) For the kingdom of Heaven is drawing nigh.
